Carotid Ultrasound
An order from your physician is required for this exam.
A carotid ultrasound is an ultrasound evaluation of the carotid arteries that run on either side of your neck. This test looks for areas of plaque build up in these arteries, it is also used if you had surgery on either of your carotid arteries.
To Prepare:
You will need to be able to transfer to the exam bed with minimal assistance. Please wear clothing that allow access to your neck, no turtleneck sweaters or necklaces please. No other prep is required.
